Sunil Julka has taken a ridiculously long time to join the Preds for someone of such undoubted sporting renown. He is a lifelong cricketer, squash and tennis player. Lately he also became a half-marathon runner (although only in winter - his ice cream addiction makes those ice cream vans a nightmare in summer).
He is famous for his elegant shotplay, reminiscent of his hero, Sachin Tendulkar, let down only by lapses in remembering when to play said shots. And a body that has done its fair share of sport and more than its fair share of after-sport partying.
Maybe it's not Sunil's sporting play which made him a hesitant predster, but rather his lack of success as a sporting onlooker. His first trip to see his beloved India in the world cup ended in defeat to the mighty Zimbabwe. His commitment to watching Wolves was undone by one too many depressing away defeats. Both teams have prospered since Sunil stayed away so perhaps predsters should be wary of following in his predding footsteps. The Julka curse is a strong one!
