It's a little known fact that Finch was born with a full head of hair. Stranger still, it was fully greased in the style that the snooker-viewing public of the world have come to know and love. The young Finch made keen strides into the sporting world - by the age of 13, he had competed for Lancashire in table football, crown green bowling and drunk-darts.

Sporting ambitions diminished as Finch reached teenage and his obsessive compulsive behaviour set in. He could regularly be found on street corners measuring pavement angles with a set square and in parks checking tree branch lengths for uniformity. Thankfully, with the aid of a rainforest's worth of graph paper and the rise of spreadsheets and email, he got himself back on his feet to coordinate annual cricketing fests, preds websites and other such nonsense.
